What to do and see in Canet en Roussillon ?

Canet Beach

The beaches of Canet en Roussillon do not match the beautiful beaches of Torreilles, but along its 9km of fine sand, you can enjoy various water sports with a breathtaking view of the mountains. It is the closest place to swim from Perpignan.

Labelled with the Blue Flag, the seaside is clean and supervised every day, allowing you to put your feet in the water in complete peace of mind. In Canet-Plage, you will find several beaches that slope gently into the Mediterranean, from Saint Cyprien to Sainte-Marie-la-Mer. Port of Canet en Roussillon

Like its beaches, Port Canet is built on 25 hectares of clean and safe water. It represents one of the largest marinas in the Catalan country in Languedoc-Roussillon. On the port side, north of Canet, you can walk along the ” Baladoir” on the Radieuse coast. This essentially pedestrian esplanade with tiles of different shapes and colors was realized by Victor Vasarely after being imagined by the architect Pierre Rahoux. You will also find the modern and innovative Oniria aquarium which, through its different universes, will take you from Mexico to Canigou by mobilizing your different senses!

Pond of Canet Saint-Nazaire

With the Massif des Albères in the background, typical of Catalan landscapes, and its protected biodiversity, the pond of Canet Saint Nazaire is a unique natural wonder in the Eastern Pyrenees. A true paradise for nature lovers, it is possible to see pink flamingos and other rare species in Europe. This ecological lagoon of 1,100 hectares has been classified Natura 2000. It gathers an important fauna and flora among which 200 migratory birds. Depending on the season, you can see some of them during a guided tour. Moreover, you can’t miss the fishing village with its incredible traditional houses still inhabited today.
